Image analysis, sometimes called image recognition, is the process of extracting meaningful information from images through the use of digital processing techniques. It’s widely popular research field due to its diverse applications in various academic subjects. The main examples that are related to image analysis are Computer Science (Graphics, Algorithms, Theory, Systems, Architecture), Mathematics (Information Retrieval, Machine Learning), Engineering (Robotics, Speech, NLP, Image Processing), Physics (Optics), Biology (Neuroscience), and Psychology (Cognitive Science). Some more direct examples of the types of applications of image analysis are face recognition, image retrieval, gaming and controls, surveillance, biometrics, and smart cars. The main purpose of our project is introduce this topic to those who are interested in learning about the different techniques and applications of image analysis. Therefore, in order to do this we researched various types of image analysis techniques along with their applications and will be attempting to explain them in a simplified manner through the use of examples in order to makes things easier to understand.
