Hypothesis Testing: Two Samples

Michael Malgeri, Pedro Gaxiola, Marco Garcia and Dr. Ivona Grzegorczyk

Abstract

We explore the concepts of hypothesis testing of two samples, which is a method of statistical inference used to decide
whether the data supports a particular hypothesis. The different kinds of two sample hypothesis tests deal with matched
pairs and independent sets of data. Hypothesis testing can be applied to compare proportions, means, and variances.
Examples of hypothesis testing include comparing vaccines, education results, and other topics.

  1. Congratulations on your presentation Michael, Marco, and Pedro. Good introduction — I agree with Dr. Ivona, an example using a data set of interest will take you to the next stage in your research.
